Chairman who?

Beijing is something of a popular spot for visiting dignitaries.

Last week Jeremy Browne MP came along to the British Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable discussion about the current economic climate for doing business in Beijing.  More green than brown as he listened to the latest survey results from BritCham, he seemed most impressed with the local price for a Range Rover – four times that of the UK.

Hot on his heels was Lord Greene (not quite sure how the Government colour-coordinates, but it’s beginning to feel a little like Reservoir Dogs…)

With a UKTI delegation of around 40 British businesses, the ambassador’s residence was a little stuffy on Sunday afternoon to say the least – but I was more than happy to meet up with an old colleague, Jeremy Swinfen Green of Amber Light Partners (I swear, none of these surnames have been doctored…) who, by happy coincidence, was present at the same do.

Finally, and perhaps most important of all (?!?) Youngy’s on his way out as we speak.  So he’ll get to sample the delights of Beijing, and Hong Kong, whilst he’s out here, meet the Shanghai crew who have decamped to the BJ office for a few weeks and find out a bit more about how it all works in China.

He may not have as colourful a name as the rest, but given that he’s the Chairman, he should fit right in!
