Ah, this should have been so much more interesting and enjoyable than it turned out to be. How could a man persuade a whole host of settlers to follow him half way across the world, raise an extraordinary amount of funds and give up all their worldly possessions in order to build a new life in a land that wasn’t there?
How did the perpetrator get away without ending up in jail for his crimes? And, most potently, how can you muck up so great a story? This isn’t that bad, the subject matter means it couldn’t be, but it’s an opportunity missed, certainly.
Could do better.
